Meet Naj

Born and raised in the 7th Ward of New Orleans, on the edge of Tremé. I'm a wife, mother, and New Orleans native committed to healing the city I love.

The Journey Home

I was raised in New Orleans and grew up in a food bank in Tremé. Care wasn't a concept in my home—it was action. It was neighbors sharing what little they had and showing up for each other. That shaped how I move through the world.

I attended Corpus Christi, Marian Central, and Redeemer-Seton before studying Sociology at the University of Louisiana. I've always been drawn to people and the systems that shape their lives. That curiosity eventually led me to The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, where I trained in Meisner Technique, voice, and movement. The work there wasn't just about acting. It was about learning to tell the truth—to listen fully, respond honestly, and make meaning out of what's real.

When I returned home, I wanted to carry that practice into everything I did. My work now—through theater, wellness, and community care—is guided by that same question: what does it mean to live truthfully and to care for others while doing it.

What Drives Me

My work sits at the intersection of art, healing, and responsibility.

Through theater, I tell stories that ask people to look closer. Through massage therapy, I create space for bodies to rest and reset. Through The 7th Ward Triangle, I help meet immediate needs with care and consistency.

It all comes back to the same practice—truth, care, and the work of making people whole.
